Analogue Rawcorded onto a primitive Tascam Porta 1
"Teen Trash" 40 odd minutes of pure rock 'n' roll
hell. Recorded in May '94 in Vic's room in Manchester for an album as
part of Music Maniac Record's Teen Trash series. Knocked back for being
"too raw"????? - this is garage after all. Have you heard Music Maniac's
Sixties Rebellion series? What a pile of crap. Especially Vol. 5 - "The Cave",
now this you'd expect to be a bit rockin' but it makes Gerry and The
Pacemakers sound like the godamn Stooges. It's old squaredos like Mr Hans
Kesteloo who insist on peddling crap like this in cool covers which give garage a bad name. You'd
think he'd never heard of Teengenerate. Anyway like fools we went and
re-recorded in a "real" studio, 16 track digital and it sounds like
absolute shit - certainly getting on for lame enough to be included on
Teen Trash. Cover by John Travis.
"A bit more than a demo, actually", BBC Radio Scotland's rave review.
"Psychedelic Nightmares" - the compilation.
This has just about everything worth hearing which makes it surprising that
there's actually as much as 90 minutes worth, it's no picnic either. It is basically the best
of the "Bad Acid Baby" (1993) and "Teen Trash" tapes thrown in with some of
the more bearable studio recordings. Also features "Swamp Thing" (as heard
on some radio station which I can't remember the name of) from the Tombstones/Inner Mystique/Zoo
transition. Is a bit lacking in the Tombstones department e.g. "Good Times" and
earlier versions of "Eat The Moon", "My Baby Left Me (In A UFO)", "Davey
Gnome's Suit", etc, but maybe we'll get round to compiling these one day.
Who knows? Who really gives a shit?
A couple of early efforts from which anything worth hearing
can be found on "Psychedelic Nightmares II"
Also, the worst recording of our worst song "Kylie Can't Dance" is
on K.O.G.A. records' "Pop Goes The Weasel Vol.2".
